Keywords: Doing and learning, focused, being active, involvement in learning View full-text The finding of the study revealed that students participation about active participation was low and active participation of students was challenged by different problem like lack of awareness about active learning practices, lack of preparation in advance on the lesson, lack of continuous support from the instructors, lack of sufficient time for discussion, Instructor teaching methodologies, and lack of reward means for active participant students from instructor before the implementation of action plan. The data obtained through observation and focus group discussion were analyzed using narrative description. The data was collected through classroom observation and focus group discussions. The data were collected from the HSC 2nd year students and 10 EFL teachers teaching English. To conduct this study, qualitative methods were employed. The purpose of this study was to identify hindering factors for active participation in classroom based teaching learning, and to enhance students active participation in classroom based teaching learning process at the HSC level English education in Bangladesh. and therefore, it's really all their fault that we fail. Teachers can lecture, and it may go in one ear and out the other. Providing students the opportunity to lead in their classroom is a great way to develop a student-centered learning environment that fosters engagement, growth and empowers students to take ownership of the learning experience. Foremost, it advocates active student participation in classroom and curriculum management, wider community development through critical active citizenship and personal and social well-being. Third, the article discusses a holistic view of student engagement. Second, it critiques this view, arguing that it is too narrow and should embrace the more holistic vision. Here, engagement is seen as a generic indicator of quality learning and teaching and successful student outcomes. The article first discusses the mainstream view. The narrow view is characterized as a mainstream view of student engagement, and the holistic and critical view as thinking beyond this mainstream. It can be conceived narrowly as a set of student and institutional behaviours in a classroom or holistically and critically as a social-cultural ecosystem in which engagement is the glue linking classroom, personal background and the wider community as essential contributors to learning.
